hoor in singapore
I survived the first day. This would be my first time to travel ALONE alone to another country... This would be my first time to travel alone. Period.

Being the worry wart that I am, I wasn't able to sleep these past few nights. Not to mention that I'm neck deep with work handling around six seminars, my face is now infested with acne. :| What the eff David Blaine?! (I curse you, Mara, for making this my catchphrase of the month "Damn, girl!")

I CANNOT WAIT TO GO HOME AND KILL THESE FUCKERS. I meant the pimples, not the participants.  Everybody's been really nice actually. The trainors are so polite... it's starting to weird me out. If majority of the people are like that, the world will be a much better place. Especially the hotel personnel, they're like those salesclerks who, when you get inside the store, won't stop following you around. I have nothing against that. I mean, it's all about quality customer service, right? But I guess I'm just not used to it. And it's starting to get really awkward when you're working on something and they're just staring at you, waiting for your instructions.

Yesterday, during pre-setup, a guy and a girl, both hotel personnels, approached me... AND SAID NOTHING. Dude. They were like three feet away and just staring at me, fumbling on their matching white hankies. :| Weirdest thing ever.

Me: Uh... yes...? (Because I thought they were there to tell or give me something)
Village of the Damned Boy: *stares*
VotD Girl: Can we help you with anything? (In soft, almost whisper-like, Chinese accent. *stop fapping, boys*)
Me: Oh. No, it's okay. We're pretty much done anyway.
VotD Boy and Girl: *stares and fumbles on white hankies*
Me (to self): (Oooooookaaaaaay...)

I hate awkward moments. So now I have to do small talk and actually find something for them to do.

So here are a few photos. I'm staying at Mandarin Oriental Singapore, a kickass hotel in the Marina area. It's adjacent to Marina Square and across The Esplanade. All photos are taken from my trusty Gary Oldman Sirius Black N93 because my D80 just too bulky. Methinks I need to buy a tiny point-and-shoot camera.

My Room. This bed is good for four people. Srsly. Sure, just rub it in my face that the purpose of this bed cannot be maximized.

Room with a View. The guy from the Concierge told me they "upgraded my room". Right. Whatever. I'm sure they say that to their other clients. :P But whether it's true or not, I love the view. :)

Two Become One. Dunno why the heck they gave me two plates.

The Bathroom. The "wall" separating the bathroom from the bedroom is a glass pane... kinda like a window. See that mirror over there? The window is right across it. Bed + Window + Mirror = Good Times

Vanity. It's my favorite sin. Oh wait. It's not. AY.

Teh Almighty Chair.

Tea Making Facility.

City Lights. Crappy photo quality but it at least gives you an idea of what Singapore looks like at night.

Hawkers. I'm not sure if this is the "hawkers" that they are talking about but the food here is significantly cheaper than resto food. I think this is their version of turo-turo pero sosyal. They have a "Manager" and their own cleaning crew... and they're very efficient, if I might add.

Sucky Sucky Fay Dollah. I could actually get room service and have it charged to the company. But I opted to walk around and try some local food. My dinner consisted of S$5 (around Php 165) crispy lemon chicken with rice and S$1.50 iced milk tea (around Php 49).

A Walk in the Park. I decided to take a walk by the riverside (or whatever they call it) after I devoured the lemon chicken. Cue Music: When I was young... I never needed anyone...

After my little stroll, I went back to my room and worked until around 1:30 AM. I woke up at 6:30, took a shower, and here I am... blogging at the reception table.

This is gonna be a long day.

Hey, don't get me wrong. 4 out of 5 of the windows open right now are work-related. ;) Sabay kabig!

You know I hate you, right? And you have a sworn duty to maximize that hotel room. DUTY, I TELLS YA!
